Please be assured that we have not forgotten about you and thank you for your continued patience. Unfortunately, our ‘normal’ procedures have not been possible whilst we have been working through the raft of changes to our school provision, to ensure the safety of all children returning to school, during these unprecedented times. We would now like to share our plans with you for the successful but different introduction to the school, for you and your child, this term and in September. Week beginning Documents to be received by parents 15.06.2020 Invite for parents to join Tapestry, enabling messages and images to be sent of the tasks children can complete at home. Parents may be aware of this provision from the Nursery setting. This means staff will have an up to date understanding of your child’s abilities, so we can plan accordingly for September. Staff can also send individual messages to the family. 22.06.2020 Website page dedicated to Reception September 2020, which can be found at: www.osborneprimaryschool.co.uk Admission forms to be returned to school via e-mail or post. Classes and staffing organised, if Nursery settings have returned transition forms to school. September plans for Reception start date (if school has received specific guidance from the government and made plans for the provision for other year groups,) 11.07.2020 Parents can request a remote meeting to answer personal, questions relating to their child’s specific needs. 02.09.2020 Class teacher and teaching assistant will offer parents and children the chance to say a quick hello individually on either Teams or Zoom. This will give the children the chance to see staff and also the chance for you to pass on any important information you’d like us to know about. Please message via Tapestry to request an appointment. 07.09.2020 Potential induction morning or afternoon, in groups of no more than 15 children. 14.09.2020 Six children from each class starting every day, so all children will be in full-time school by 18.09.2020. Please inform us by Tapestry, of any work, child care needs, which we will try to accommodate when planning children’s start dates. This start date is only a week later than in previous years, but will allow other year groups to have settled under the new procedures ensuring a smoother transition for your child/children. Hopefully, the above information will reassure you that school has taken the time to prepare a careful, detailed plan. Please, can I urge you to return the registration and consent form for Tapestry, as it will be an effective communication tool during your child’s first year at Osborne. We look forward to meeting up with you and your child as soon as possible. Please take care and stay safe. Michelle Gay Download a copy of this letter by clicking here.
