Newsletter 10.09.21

Dear Parent/Carer,

The children have been really pleased to be back in school and seemed to have settled in well. We hope this continues and look forward to welcoming both Reception classes, full time next week

Breakfast and After School Clubs

Currently, we are hoping to start Breakfast Club from the 27th September or earlier if possible and we will send more details next week.

This year, it is our wish to engage children in variety of after school activities that develop children’s talents in areas including but also other than sport. We are currently working with a well trusted company, who is working with other Erdington schools in the ATLP Trust. It is hoped that initially we may be able to offer areas such as Scootability, Arts and Crafts, Construction and Boxing for Fitness.

Please express an interest in any of these clubs for your child via this link: . If this is successful, we would then look to organise 2 clubs per day so more children can be involved.

Collection Times from School for Y2 – Y6

Unfortunately, staggered collections times are not permitted under the new guidance sent out by the Department for Education, so collection times have had to be rearranged.

Thank you for your patience throughout this week, as we iron out the problems experienced when collecting your children.

Minor changes have been made after receiving reasonable and supportive suggestions from both children and staff.

As a result, those parents that collected their children punctually are now able to leave the sight before 3:30pm. This is impressive considering there are over 240 children to be collected.

Respectful Parking and Keeping Children Safe

Please walk to school with your child, if you are able, SUITABLE parking is extremely limited.

Asking your child to leave opposite the school gates is not safe and causes further traffic issues.

Please remember that parking or stopping by the double yellow lines incurs a fixed penalty of £100 plus 3 points. Parking on the double yellow lines incurs a fixed penalty of £50.

If necessary, senior leaders will take photos of regular offenders and send them to the police.

Class E-mails

With the changes in guidance, very few children will now have to isolate and if they do, the remote, online support will be accessed via Teams.

Parents can now request to meet with teachers to discuss an issue at a convenient time or request a meeting via the website or enquiry e-mail.

Class e-mails will therefore be disabled from Friday, as teachers are finding it difficult to complete all tasks and then monitor this e-mail account.

St Edmund Campion Open Evening

St Edmund Campion's Open Evening will take place on Tuesday 21st September. Prospective pupils and their parents are invited to visit to tour the school and meet the staff between 6.30 pm and 8.15 pm.

Mr Grant, Head teacher, will give talks at 6.30pm and 7.30 pm.

Parents are also invited to see the school in operation on Thursday 23rd September between 9.45 am and 11.15 am.  Please note that Year 6 pupils should not attend Open Morning as they will need to be in their Year 6 lessons.
