Supporting Children’s Well Being during the School Day

The Children’s Society have released children’s responses to their questions about life after the pandemic. Unsurprisingly, children said they want to be outside in open spaces and participating in activities with others.

In response, we will be using Kit’s Academy to provide some physical and mental health support for specific year groups this term and other year groups throughout the year.

This will involve some classes following either a specific programme called:

Mind and Body which focuses on the types of physical activities that aid mental health, aiming to nurture key mental skills and improve academic performance.

or Express Yourself which guides children through the creative ways we can share our feelings, thoughts and ideas. Exploring issues like emotions, feelings, friendship, self-esteem, transition and bullying.

Plus, Reception children involved in Little Laces which provides fun based activities to improve listening, social and communication skills.

After School Clubs

The start date is likely to be after half term for these programmes which will also include the After School Clubs mentioned in the survey. A form will be available soon for you to book a place for your child.

Also, to confirm that the Scootability Club will be £4.50 per week for 10 weeks.

Lost Property

Increasingly more lost property is being found across the school. This is easy to solve if the item has a NAME written on a label. Please ensure your child’s name is in every item, as staff do NOT have the time to search for children’s items of clothing. Instead, they will use their time to support effective learning.

Lost property will be placed out on the Y2 – Y6 playground at collection time. After 2 weeks it is thrown away, as school does not have an area to store it in.
