Retirement

After much deliberation, I have finally reached the very difficult decision to retire at Easter.

It is with huge sadness that I have made this decision, but with over 35 years in education and over 11 years as head teacher at Osborne Primary School, it is time to let someone younger and with fresh ideas to take on the role and lead the school in its next chapter.

Being part of the Arthur Terry Learning Trust Partnership has ensured that the transition can take place over several months, ensuring stability and further progress for the children and families of Osborne Primary.

As a result, the new head teacher, Lisa Dodd, has already been appointed and she will be spending up to two days a week, this term, in school working initially with myself and other school leaders.

Mrs Dodd is an experienced head teacher who is joining us from Curdworth Primary and has vast experience of working in schools very similar to Osborne. She is very excited and keen to get to know both children and staff, over the next few months.

Learning Consultations Wednesday 17th November

We are very pleased that many parents have booked their slots and hope you found this more manageable.

If you haven’t booked, please do, as research shows that children whose parent’s attend these events make better progress.

If you attend Achievement for All consultations, then you will not attend this session, but an e-mail has been sent inviting you to book via Parent Pay.

Due to the current pandemic, we would ask that all adults coming into school wear face masks and use the hand gel on entering and leaving the building.

Parent Contribution to Theatre Trip

Thank you to the many parents who have already been able to make the £5.50 payment. Payments can be made on Parent Pay

Christmas Performances

We are planning to invite parents into school this year, if the levels of covid remain low in our school community and national guidelines do not change.

However, to reduce the number and mix of parents in school, each of the younger year groups: Reception, Y1 and Y2 will perform separately, rather than together. The dates and times can be found in the diary dates box.

The KS2 children will visit Erdington Methodist Church for our annual Carol Concert but due to number restrictions and the increased numbers of children in the school, we will be unable to invite parents to this event. However, we are trying to organise a live link, so that parents could join us on Teams from home.
