School closed

School will be closed on Monday 29th November as it is a Professional Development Day for all schools in the Arthur Terry Learning Partnership.

I am very pleased to share some exciting news with you.

Mr Heathershaw has been appointed as an additional Assistant Head to lead school improvement through the championing of outstanding behaviour for all children. He will also continue in his role as SENDCo and the leader responsible for the Inclusion Hub.

One of his first tasks will be to review our behaviour policy and then share with parents for your opinions.

Theatre Trip

As part of our precautions against Covid, I can reassure you that during our visits to the Old Rep Theatre we will be the only school attending each performance. Therefore each child will not be mixing indoors with anyone from outside our community.

Reception, Y1 and Y2 will leave at 9:30 on Tuesday 30th November and return for a slightly later lunch. Y3, 4, 5 and 6 will do the same on Thursday 2nd December.

School will provide a snack and drink for each child during the interval, so please do not send any money or other refreshments with them.

Let’s hope they all enjoy the true magic of live theatre.

Online Safety

Please be aware of which social media platforms your child is accessing. West midlands police have said there is a new platform called Friendship Groups, which is mainly targeting primary schools. The Friendship Groups were being set up via mobiles and it is potentially a way to groom young people or get them involved in gangs.

Litter - masks

Many thanks to those parents who attended the Learning Consultations and followed our guidance of wearing a mask whilst in school. However, we were disappointed to find many masks discarded on the floor outside school instead of putting them in the bins both in and out of school.
